Au pair nanny on a farm in Cornwall Location: Cornwall
This is a fantastic opportunity to live on a farm in Cornwall, two miles from the sea, working as an au pair, nanny, housekeeper, cook and chief bedtime story teller.
My existing au pair, came for three months, but after having been here for a year has recently decided to move to London. I also have an assistant summer au pair who is with us for ten weeks. The summer tends to be quite busy, hence the extra help for ten weeks.
We need a permanent au pair / nanny, ideally for at least one year. You will need to be completely flexible, dependable and reliable, with a fantastic sense of humour, the patience of a saint and a can-do attitude.
My son is four years old and quite mature for his age. He has been brought up to be well mannered, talks incessantly and loves his cows and pigs. Applicants should note that I run the farm and am separated from my wife, who lives about twenty miles away. Our separation is amicable and our son spends 99% of his time with me on the farm.
Our food is primarily home grown, with a large garden supplying many vegetables, fruit and herbs. Meat is home reared with chest freezers normally bulging with beef, lamb and pork, game such as rabbit, pheasant and partridge is eaten when in season, and eggs reach the kitchen still warm. Being in Cornwall, seafood is eaten frequently.
Meals are regarded as an important part of the day; with breakfast being an opportunity to discuss what everyone will be doing, through to dinner being an opportunity to discuss what everyone has done. Meals are always at a fully laid table, the television is always turned off, and pretty much everything home baked, from biscuits, to cakes, pies etc.
Pay is £100 per week, use of a car (subject to a verifiable clean driving licence), mobile telephone and use of computer / internet. You have you own double bedroom with incredible views and private bath and shower room.
The house is at the end of a 650m private drive. There are gardens, a grass tennis court and it is very quiet. The nearest village is two miles, the nearest town four miles. Other than some lovely quiet beaches on the Lizard, there is sailing on the Helford River and horse riding.
If you are interested in the position, please email an up to date CV, state whether you have a clean driving licence, CRB (or overseas equivalent reference), attach a recent photo and please confirm the exact dates you are available to work. The position is available immediately.
