Live-in au pair for friendly family six months from Feb

Location: Kennington, London

We are a warm and sociable family of four, with our third baby due in March. Our eldest, Yvan, turns three in July and will start nursery in September. Guy, his younger brother, is 16 months. They love playing together and love other people too.

We live between Kennington and Camberwell in a lovely spacious house with easy bus and tube access to town – 15 minutes to Oxford Circus by bus, and 10 minutes walk from Oval / Kennington tubes.

We are looking for an EU female au pair who:
• Is friendly, responsible and loves children
• has a reference
• speaks English well if it’s their second language
• is a non-smoker
• is 20-30 years of age
• can live with us for a minimum of six months from the end of February (at the latest) to end of August
• is happy to work 25 hours / week plus one night babysitting in return for all meals, a spacious room at the top of the house and £80 / week

We’d like you to work 5 hours / day split between the morning (7.30-10am) and afternoon (4.30-7pm). We’d like you to get the boys up, feed them breakfast and get them dressed in the morning and then, in the evening, make them supper, feed and bathe them. There will be some child-related cleaning – bed-making, toy-tidying, some kids’ laundry, tidying up after meals etc - but we have a cleaning lady whom we plan to keep on.

The idea is that I’ll then be able to focus on feeding the new baby and catch up with sleep while the two boys are cared for at home. It’s important that you’d feel comfortable having sole care of both boys – I’ll be around as well, but often elsewhere in the house.

You’d have your own spacious, bright room at the top of the house with broadband access and your own shower and bathroom – also a laundry room – except when we have a guest staying. You’d be free to hang out with us in the evenings / eat with us as much or as little as you’d like.
